SMART
has a diverse staff of professionals, in addition to volunteers and youth
leaders who are dedicated to providing prevention and intervention programs
in traditional and non-traditional settings throughout many Metro Atlanta
Counties.
All staff has a least a bachelor's degree and/or a minimum
of 5 years experience working with low-income families in at-risk/high-risk
communities. Staff is organized and flexible, as well as quite capable
of dealing with adults, youth, families and communities with social
and/or behavioral challenges. Because SMART staff serves as role models,
we must consistently demonstrate a strong work ethic as well as a trustworthy
desire to serve the underserved. We vow to offer youth and adults a
sense of safety, and youth a safe have to "hang out". All
staff and volunteers go through background checks by the City of Hapeville
Police Department as well as through the State Department. Staff and
volunteers receive initial and ongoing developmental trainings from
SMART staff and/or via external resource.
